Apple Developer Account in Nepal: What to Check First
Apple's enrollment page does not say whether Nepal is a supported country, so there is no official yes or no. Enrollment is offered on the web and in the Apple Developer app, and Apple says it may not be supported in some regions. A few Nepali developers have reported enrollments stuck at the payment step, and the public thread we found has no answer. This post covers what Apple's pages say as of October 2026, what the forum record shows, and what to check before you pay.
What Apple's enrollment page says
Apple's enrollment support page and the Developer Program page set out these rules:
- Account and age. You need an Apple Account with two-factor authentication turned on and must be the legal age of majority in your region. Apple gives no numeric age.
- Legal name. An individual's legal name is listed as the seller on the App Store. Apple says an alias, nickname or company name in the first or last name field will delay approval.
- Your own card. For an individual paying by credit card, Apple says you must use your own card. If you don't, enrollment is delayed and you may be asked for a government-issued photo ID.
- Fee. The annual fee is 99 USD. Apple says prices are shown in local currency where available and may vary by region, so check the amount on your enrollment screen.
- Confirmation. After payment you get a confirmation email, and you can check status by signing in to the developer website. If you have no confirmation within 24 hours of purchase, contact Apple and include your Enrollment ID.
- Regions. Enrollment may not be supported in certain regions, for example because of sanctions or other restrictions.
What Apple's pages do not say
Apple's enrollment page does not list the countries where enrollment works. It says nothing about cards issued in Nepal and does not show a Nepali rupee price. We could not find either in the official pages we could open.
Apple does set region-specific paths. The same page says enrollment in India is only available through the Apple Developer app. That shows Apple can change how enrollment works by country, but it says nothing about Nepal.
What Nepali developers have reported
One thread, Apple Developer Account Pending, was opened in September 2023. The original poster says they are from Nepal. The status screen read "To continue your enrollment, complete your purchase now." They said the account had been pending for more than four days, and another poster in the thread says they tried multiple cards and accounts. A reply from April 2026 says the same problem was reported to Apple about a week earlier. No Apple reply is reported, and the thread has no accepted answer.
That is one thread with a few posters, so it shows a pattern but not how common the problem is. Search results also show threads with similar titles from other countries, such as one about payments failing with multiple cards in Türkiye, which suggests the stall is not specific to Nepal. We did not read those threads in full.
A checklist before you pay
- Match your legal name. Use the name on your government ID in the account, with no nickname or alias.
- Use your own card. Apple's rule for individuals is your own credit card. Have a clear copy of your photo ID ready in case Apple asks for it.
- Make one clean attempt. The thread above shows that trying several cards and accounts did not resolve one poster's problem. If a payment fails, note the exact message and take a screenshot of the screen before you retry.
- Check your bank. If a charge is declined, ask your bank whether it blocks international merchant payments. Bank statements show whether a charge went through, which the status screen may not.
- Wait 24 hours, then contact support. Apple's rule is to contact support if there is no confirmation within 24 hours of purchase. Include your Enrollment ID, and keep the support reference number.
While you wait: the free account
A free Apple Developer account gives access to beta versions of Xcode and operating systems, testing on your own devices, the Developer Forums and Feedback Assistant. Apple lists TestFlight, distribution of apps and digital goods, and sales and analytics reports as membership benefits. So a stalled enrollment should not stop you from building and testing an app on your own device, but it does hold back distribution.
Where a team can help
Planning often matters more than the account. Before you pay for a membership, decide which platforms you need, whether a web app would meet the goal, and how the app will be tested. Saga Infographics lists app development on its contact page, so if you are planning an app, you can get in touch to talk through scope. For websites, the web development service covers the same planning questions.
Apple's rules and fees can change, so check the pages linked above before you act on this post.
